A new study published in the International Journal of Obesity claims that even one hour of exercise a week reduces the risk of obesity, type 2 diabetes, and some cancers. The authors of the study say that they found no evidence of benefit in people who exercise for two hours a week, though they do believe that if you exercise for that duration, you will experience a significant benefit. This study shows that it is possible to achieve many of the health benefits from exercise without being physically active for a full two hours each week. However, the researchers recommend that everyone engage in some exercise, regardless of the intensity.
