I will be tracking my weight throughout the challenge. I’m hoping to lose 30 pounds and I’m going to be posting pictures of my journey on my blog. I’d love your support and encouragement in my weight loss challenge. I’m sure I will gain weight when we eat out and I’m not going to be tracking my food and I’m not going to measure my portion sizes.

I love running. My most memorable race was the Iron Horse Half Marathon in 2015. I ran the course in 3h52 and broke my previous 10K time by 11 minutes. I was so proud of myself and I enjoyed the time to reflect and think about all I had accomplished in 2015.

When I was 25 years old I weighed 236 pounds. I was ashamed of my size. I felt like I was a disgusting, old, fat slob. I knew I needed to lose weight.

My current focus is to achieve my target weight of about 80kg and lose about 100kg by August 2016. The reasons are both personal and professional. I work in the health sector where the health of the public is paramount, and health is dependent on overweight and obesity. I also have a responsibility to my children and family.
